A Strength Class Journey

Conquering the Fear of the Unknown in Fitness

The fear of the unknown can often deter us from taking that crucial first step. We've all been there, right? The uncertainty of how a situation will unfold can be overwhelming. Questions flood our minds: "Will I look out of place?" "Is this too advanced for me?"

In this post, we'll demystify our flagship strength class. By the end, you'll have the knowledge to face the unknown head-on, allowing you to dive wholeheartedly into the strength session.

The Principle of Progressive Overload

Our strength classes revolve around the principle of progressive overload. In simple terms, each session should challenge you a bit more than the last. But how do we ensure this? And what does "challenge" really mean? We'll delve into this shortly.

Structured for Success

We've meticulously structured our classes into alternating Day A and Day B sessions. Both days offer comprehensive full-body workouts, ensuring we target as many skills and muscles as possible. And here's the kicker: these two days develop every six weeks. This gives you ample time to master the movements and track your progress in your personal logbook.

The Perfect Balance of Variation

Ever attended a fitness class where the routine changes every week, leaving you guessing? That's high variability. While it might sound exciting, constantly changing routines make it hard to master movements and track progress. On the other hand, repeating the same routine can lead to stagnation and boredom.

Our system strikes the perfect balance. With six weeks to learn and progress, followed by a refreshing change, you'll stay motivated and see tangible results.

The Written Strength Class

Imagine stepping into our strength class, knowing you're one of just eight participants. This intimate setting ensures personalized attention and camaraderie. Our expert coach pairs you with a training buddy, and your duo's plan is clearly displayed on our gym screen.

Every session kicks off with a targeted warm-up, prepping your body for the exercises ahead. Once warmed up, you'll pick up your personal training book. This is where the principle of progressive overload comes into play. By reviewing your previous session, you can determine how to progress—whether it's adding more weight or increasing reps within a specified range.

The initial exercises are compound movements—highly effective exercises that target large portions of the body. While you're pushing through these exercises, your partner is there to encourage you and assist with adjusting the weights. And rest assured, our expert coaches are always on hand, walking around the room to offer advice, answer questions, and provide that extra push when the last rep feels tough.

Following this, you'll engage in supersets, alternating exercises with your partner to target specific muscles.

At the end we finish with a team session. This challenging and fun segment fosters a sense of unity among class members.

And there you have it—a virtual walkthrough of our strength class!

Community

One of the most challenging feelings to convey through written words is the sense of community you'll experience while training at our gym. As previously mentioned, the fear of the unknown can often hinder the first steps of a transformative journey. At The Project PT, our team and members are deeply committed to the principles of equality and fostering a safe space. Here, no one will judge you based on the gym attire you choose or your current fitness level. We're all on this journey together, and as a team, we support and uplift each other to reach our fullest potential.
